Five Years from Now - Planning for the Future

From the moment we are able to grasp the concept of life and its achievements, we are planning for what we are going to do and who we are going to be. We all had dream jobs in kindergarten, whether it be the President, a firefighter, or a teacher.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to make a career in gaming of some sort. I grew up playing video games, why not make a career out of something I enjoy? During my senior year in high school, I made a plan to go to colleg to be a game designer.

As previously mentioned in my blogs, that road took a different path. I could no longer be a game designer, but I enjoyed making videos. And so my plan turned to creating content. Not only do I want to make successful videos, but I want to run my own business someday.

I’ve learned that plans are possibly the best motivation when it comes to achieving goals. I have created a plan to follow so I can achieve my dreams of being a successful content creator and run my own business.

My first goal is a short-term goal compared to the others. I want to reach the milestone of 500 subscribers on Youtube by April. This is probably one of my biggest tests in determining whether or not I will be successful as this is halfway to monetization, or earning money, on Youtube.

It’s easy to plan for your goals, but what about how you’re going to achieve them? To achieve my goal of gaining 500 subscribers, I have created a content calendar for months of December and January, and have a list of ideas for the following months.

My next goal is my one-year goal to be achieved by November 2021. I want to have at least 1,000 subscribers, therefore monetized, and have started to make content creating my career.

This would be a huge achievement as this would be a life-changer. Every single subscriber is a reward to me, but being able to be paid for my hard work would be, honestly, a dream come true.

My final goal is set to five years from now. I want to have made creating content a steady career, own my own house, and started my own business. I know what you’re thinking: “Maybe that’s setting the goal too high!” But I believe if you really apply yourself and work hard, you can achieve your dreams.

And so I am encouraging my readers to reflect on their lives. Have you achieved what you want from life? If not, what are you going to do about it? Don’t let obstacles get you down, jump over those hurdles, and make your dreams come true.
