Time to Get Away
If you have ever reached a point in your life where you feel like you can’t decide on anything and you begin to think about everything going on in life in a negative way, you need to realize you are not alone and it's time for you to get away.
I recently hit a point in my life where I couldn’t bear another question and at night my head would spin, I would think about every question that came at me during the day and every question that could come from answering those questions. It became very unhealthy. I would stay up all night thinking of question after question, then it would turn into what kind of lifestyle I would like to live.
I then decided I need to get away so I planned a camping trip with my family. A beautiful lake up in the mountains of California surrounded by trees fresh air and tranquility. Good ole 2020 then decided to step in the week of the camping trip and set more than half of California on fire. Even though the area I was going to be camping in wasn’t in the burn zone, the campgrounds were closed due to massive amounts of thick smoke.
Although this was very upsetting and my garage was full of camp gear, I decided I still need to get away and I wasn’t going to let this bring me down. I am now spending those days that I had planned to go camping in Monterey, California. That is were I am as I am writing this blog. The open ocean and cool weather is very refreshing. There is still a light amount of smoke but it is still a much needed trip.
What I think anyone should take from this, if you are ever feeling like the stress of life is keeping you back from achieving your goals, take a break. It may be something you feel like you can’t afford it, but honestly you don’t need to get a room in a fancy hotel. Find a room in the closest and cheapest hotel near you. Just going down the street can help because it takes you away from your current environment. If you can’t get a room, ask a friend if you can stay at their house for the night just to get away or even find a diner that is open and just spend a few hours there. Get away from your environment and really start to enjoy life again.
